Well, the wineyard (err.. vineyard) is closed down for this year, and I escaped before the first snow came ..lol.. actually left that afternoon. The vineyard got snow that evening.
So I am back in the sunny south again until the snow begins to melt, and you will probably hear a bit more from me over the course of the next few months.
I have to say though, I have a complete new found respect for farmers. We didnt get all the new vines we wanted for this year, so we decided to plant some sweet corn in the unused prepared fields (why waste it we thought).
So after buying the seed, planting etc etc etc , we watched the stuff grow. Well we got (in no particular order) , excessive rainfalls, hail, horizontal rain, high winds, lightning strikes, corn borer, skunks, racoons. I even made a joke at one point to my farming neighbor, that we had gotten our 40 days of rain, now all we needed was plague and pestilence. (The next day, the corn borer hit, I should have shut my mouth).
Then blight went through the vines.. lol
We did manage to salvage some of the corn crop, and sold enough to cover our seed costs. Seeing that this project is really for shits and grins for me, I wasnt really hurt by it, but watching some of my neighbors take financial hits with failed crops, makes your heart sink. They put a HUGE amount of time and effort into it.
Anyways, for those of you who are wondering, next year is first production year for grapes, so again, blight didnt really bother us..this year. We hope that next year will be a better year though weather wise, and that the vineyard will begin to produce some really fine hootch ... hehe
For now its back to work for me. The new search engine has been running in beta mode for several months now (very nicely I might add) and we look forward to taking it up to the next levels within the next few months.
Will keep you posted

The contest starts at the impressing Hősök tere (Heroes' Square), which is usually the main meeting place for skaters and skateboarders, but for a few days at the end of summer thousands of two-legged enthusiasts reclaim the square and admire the 24 sculptures representing important actors from Hungarian history. It's not a coincidence that Fred Lebow - a Hungarian by origin - also wanted the Budapest Marathon to start from here.
On 5th September the Budapest Half Marathon welcomes all runners for the jubilatory 25th time. In 2009, several thousand Hungarian and international participants, coming from 52 countries, started out to defeat the 21.097 kilometrer distance. nba jerseys

The trail passes by the most beautiful sights of Budapest and the runners do not only exercise but also get to know the historic spots of the city.
The half marathon can be completed alone or in a team of two. For beginners and families with small children, we recommend the 3,5 kilometrer-long Liget round.
