*cough* .. this could have been posted in the domains segment .. lol .. just razzing ya
In all honesty, in todays environment, I really dont have much to offer as advice. The econ is hitting a lot of people hard, and a lot of people simply arent renewing their domains, or being more selective about what they do renew or register.
Now having said that, there are probably 50 million people new unemployed around the world, so they will represent the new breed of webmaster coming online to make their way in life.
Soooo , you could always try the auction places (like sedo , I dont like them much, and this is not a recommendation of them by any stretch), or , simply put a "This domain is for sale" line on your website, and maybe put some proper contact information on your whois output for those domain names. (If you use privacy, or simply non-existant info).

| Zoeybaba...I've been seeing a lot of domains up for sale lately..have been dropping some myself. But I will be picking up others as I adjust to things and my business needs shift. What do you have for sale..private me if you like, or post them on here. Maybe I can use them. |

| Hi, just stumbled across this thread and thought I'd give some advice. I recently sold a domain for the first time (never tried before) and from that experience I have 3 pieces of advice to offer: One of the most effective ways of selling a domain turned out to be actually looking for potential end users and contacting them to politely ask if they'd be interested in purchasing it. They may ignore your email or they may reply, either way you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Just make sure they understand you're a regular honest person and not some sort of spammer. Another way is to list your domain on GoDaddy Auctions. Since GoDaddy is one of the most popular domain name companies, a lot of people browse their auctions, or if someone types in your domain to see if it's available for registration they will see that it's for sale. And a third thing to do is to go on related forums like NamePros.com and read everything you can, if you have time, about the different things you could do to sell your domain. I've been reading there for a while and believe it or not, people are still buying and selling domains for 3 or 4 digit sums when they think it's worth it. You can also offer your domain name for sale on that forum. Hope this helps! |
