I couldn't agree more.
Problem is, there are too many out there that do give it relevance. Try exchanging links with someone, and they require that you have a PR of 4 or more. It doesn't matter the amount of traffic you have to your site, if the PR isn't to their liking, you are not going to get a link.
I don't like playing the google game, I find it quite sickening to be honest, but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do  |

| PageRank is a numeric value that represents the importance of a page on the Internet. Google figures when page links to another page, it is actually a vote for the other. The more votes that are cast for a page, the next most important being. Hence the importance of the page that is casting the vote determines the importance of the vote itself is. Google calculates a page's importance from the votes for him. How important each vote is taken into account when a page PageRank is calculated. |

| I love it when I come across other people that are not PR obsessed. I wonder when people will realize that it's how your websites are doing in the search engine results pages that matters not the PR |
