While it is always your best bet to have a personal website to sell your affiliate marketing links through, it is not needed in order to succeed. There are several very common methods of marketing that will still put your message in front of a world of customers.
The most common form of affiliate marketing is through commercial email. There are many ways to develop double-optin email lists as you will not want to "spam" potential customers with unsolicited advertising emails. You can, for example, enter an ebook or software product to an online Giveaway event to build a mailing list without needing your own website. Coupled with an account with a professional autoresponder company, you will have a powerful advertising tool. Remember to keep your email messages brief and friendly with the hyperlink to your affiliate product's webpage included.

People ask me that question all the time. Often they are just curious, but quite often they ask because they want to figure out how they could also embark on a successful internet marketing journey.
Usually they are surprised when I answer. Because the truth is that EVERY product and service sells, and everything *can* do very well on the Internet.
Airline tickets, books, diamonds, wedding services, horses, stock options, steel, consulting, dating services, medical equipment, grocery, steel, art, even bull semen (yes, I *am* serious :-)
However, "what sells?" is not the most important question to ask. Because it is not the product that determines whether or not you will be successful as a small business owner.

As you build your business, you naturally explore different avenues of networking for new opportunities. One such source is the cross-referral.
Cross-referrals are strategic agreements, whether formal or informal, between companies serving like markets to trade their clients’ contact information to the other for marketing their complimentary products or services. For instance, web designers may build referral resources from freelance writers, marketing and branding companies or web developers and other businesses that do things that the designers don’t, but offer complimentary services to their end-customers. Cross-referrals are a great way to use free, word of mouth advertising though referral agreements may not always be free. There will be some arrangements where a commission can be earned based on a prearranged percentage or a flat-rate referral fee; but many startups are happy to give free referrals in return for the same courtesy.

Home Improvement DirectoryHow can you increase your chances for acceptance in directories? There are restrictions to being accepted by a directory and if you don’t follow the rules or guidelines set down by the directory you are most likely not going to be accepted. Affordable and effective website promotion methods considered today for internet business owners are the use of directory submissions. Some of the rules for directory submissions are in fact not written in the regulations of the directory itself and there is a right way and a wrong way to go about directory submissions.
There are thousands of SEO directories available online and they all have guidelines that must be followed and you need to ensure you follow the correct steps to ensure acceptance or at least have the highest possible chance to have your submission and your website accepted. These rules apply if you are submitting to the directory yourself or if you obtain the services of a directory submission company.

Creating a podcast is easy and simple as long as you have valuable information to share and the proper tools to record yourself with. And contrary to what you may believe, it doesn't require hours of preparation and rehearsal.
The most important thing to do is just get started even if you have no broadcast experience. You'll get better as you go, but don't wait until you think your podcast is perfect before posting it on your blog. Just start talking...after you establish a purpose and gather the proper equipment.
First of all, you need a purpose for your podcast. Who are you speaking to? What message do you have to share? Why are you recording your information? If you start recording without a clear vision of your market and your message, your podcast is sure to be scattered, vague and worthless. And so you won't fulfill your purpose of driving traffic to your site and establishing yourself as an expert in your field.

The question used to be: Do you have a website? With most small business owners realizing a website is an absolute given in the marketing mix, the question becomes: How do you market your website? We wish we could tell you: "Build it and they will come." But it's not that simple.
If people don't know about your website, they can't visit--and learn about what you have to offer. That's why marketing your website online and offline is just as important as marketing your product or service.
Don't worry. It's easier than you think. Make yourself visible in the places your target market lives and works in the offline world as well as the online world. Here are our top suggestions for each:

Online marketing, also known as Internet marketing, is simply the marketing of products and service offerings via the Internet. With the explosion of Internet onto the scene, almost every home is connected to your product or service through online marketing. Whether you are checking your email, shopping on a website or just searching for information, online ads are everywhere! A new marketing landscape, the Internet offers a new and cheaper advertising space, as compared to traditional spaces like print, television, radio and outdoor advertising. It’s a revolution of sorts and small and home business owners are making the most of it.
For a home based start up, online advertising is a potent tool that can maximize visibility, drive traffic to the company’s website, up the sales and build a solid brand in the process. Going to an expensive advertising agency to run your campaign would most definitely burn a hole in your pocket. The good news is you don’t have to do that. Just remember the twin mantras of focus on what you want and a strong dose of imagination; and you’ll be on your way.
